Come and enjoy our lakeside paradise! View the pristine rain forest as if you were an early explorer, and on a clear day you can see the snow-capped Southern Alps Ka Tiritiri o te Moana, and the Franz Josef Glacier Ka� Roimata o Hine Hukatere.

Board the Hannah K from the wharf at Jetty Bay, it is just off State Highway 6 at the southern end of at Lake Mapourika, and there is plenty of parking available. Our schedule is flexible so look at the Cruising Options webpage, and let us knows if you have any specific requirements when you make your booking.

7:00 am ANGLERS EARLY MORNING ADVENTURE

In Maori Mapourika means “flower of the dawn,” and dawn is an ideal time to go fishing. All fishing gear is provided by the Lake Tours team.

9:30 am EARLY BIRDS PHOTOGRAPHIC LAKE TOUR

Greet the day with a scenic cruise on Lake Mapourika. This is when the views are picture perfect even in the rain.

11:30 am MIDDDAY LAKE TOUR

Bring your own picnic lunch, and have a relaxing meal out on the water. Shelter from the midday sun in the cabin of the Hannah K and enjoy panoramic lakeside views.

1:00 pm R & R LAKE TOUR

After a morning of adrenalin and adventure, enjoy this rejuvenating cruise. It's a perfect time to soak up the views and let your lunch digest.

3:00 pm HIGH TEA LAKE TOUR

Have a cup of coffee or tea as you cruise the calm waters of Lake Mapourika. Reflect on your holiday, and watch as the sun heads towards the Tasman Sea.

Celebrate your holiday with a twilight cruise. In summer, there is nothing more romantic than a sunset tour of Lake Mapourika on the Hannah K.

FISHING CRUISES

Trout can be caught all year round, and during the salmon season (1st October to the 31st March), the Hannah K is the perfect venue to catch the `big one'. There is plenty of room to stretch out, the forward and rear viewing platforms are ideal for fishing, and the 60hp high thrust engines are whisper quiet.

Skipper Trevor Willets can show you the secret fishing spots, traditionally known only to the locals, and fire up the BBQ to cook your prize. As part of the charter package your fishing licence and fishing tackle will be provided by the Glacier Country Lake Tours team.

If you plan to visit Glacier Country in February, make your booking early as the fishing charters sell out fast during the South Westland Lions `Lake Mapourika Fishing Competition'.

PHOTOGRAPHERS PARADISE

If photography is your passion, an early morning cruise on the Hannah K is ideal. When the weather is fine the mist rising of the lake and the first glimpse of the mountains is breathtaking.

Your skipper Trevor Willets knows the best vantage points on Lake Mapourika, and the Hannah K will provide you with a stable platform for your tripod.

Even in the rain you can capture moody shots of this primeval landscape from the rear viewing platform. With its custom made canopy this area will keep you and your expensive equipment dry.

BIRD WATCHING MECCA

Home to a complete menagerie of native and introduced avian species Lake Mapourika is a bird watching Mecca. There are reference books on board the Hannah K to help you identify individual birds.

The Lake is also home to the rare and extremely shy crested grebe puteketeke, and the surrounding forests are the domain of the world's rarest kiwi, the rowi or Okarito brown. Make sure you ask your skipper about the BNZ Operation Nest Egg Programme, and the work that is carried out by the Department of Conservation in the Okarito Kiwi Zone.

KIDZ CRUISE

Children of all ages are welcome at Lake Mapourika. The interactive `Kidz Pack' will keep your tribe entertained and help teach them about the wonders of Lake Mapourika and Glacier Country.

Young sailors can take the helm under the watchful eye of Skipper Trevor Willets, and earn their very own Glacier Country Lake Tours Skippers Certificate. When you make your booking ask about the family packages that are available.
